We're excited to announce the launch of Queer Expressions, a new annual exhibition at Capizzo, perfectly timed with the Saugatuck/Douglas Pride Week. Given the long-standing connection between the LGBTQ+ community and our vibrant town, this show feels like a natural and important addition to our calendar.

We understand and support the idea that Queer art shows can create safe and inclusive spaces for queer individuals to connect with each other, share their experiences, and build community.  Now more than ever it seems that helping individuals cope with the challenges of living in a world that is not always accepting of queer identities is all important.  

 

Queer art exhibitions play a crucial role in fostering safe and inclusive spaces where individuals can connect, share their experiences, and build community. Furthermore, the art itself can offer profound emotional support and create a sense of solidarity through shared experiences.

Queer Expressions will celebrate the powerful voices and unique perspectives of queer artists. In today's climate, their creative statements are more vital than ever.
